It’s not just for kids only, but Scientist Saturday at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History is certainly something that could give a really boost to kids with an interest in science. And this one could be especially inspiring to young girls.
Shannon Story, a microbiologist at Sherwin-Williams, will be on hand to talk about her career — what she does, how she got her job and what she needed to study to be qualified. She’ll also share the challenges of being a woman in this mostly male field where, despite the removal of so many institutional blocks that held women back, it sometimes seems that attitudes are taking longer than necessary to change.
