New York musician Ben Rosenblum, who plays piano and accordion and composes music, is young — barely out of Columbia University. But he’s already done a lot, won a bunch of awards, collaborated with a diverse roster of musicians, and performed in India and Italy, as well as many domestic jazz festivals.

Last year, he released his debut album Instead, featuring a trio that also included bassist Curtis Lundy and drummer Billy Hart. On it, six of his own compositions, covering styles ranging from post-bop to Afro-Cuban to bossa nova, share space with pieces by the likes of Charlie Haden, Randy Weston, Duke Ellington, and Thad Jones and Abbey Lincoln.

He’ll be performing at the BOP STOP with Marty Jaffe on bass and Ben Zweig on drums. Tickets are $12.
