The Baseball Heritage Museum Looks at Negro Leagues Player Ted Toles Jr

Sat 2/3 @10:30AM

Ted Toles Jr., who died in Warren, Ohio in 2016 at the age of 90, never made it to baseball’s major leagues. But he did play for several Negro Leauges teams including the Cleveland Buckeyes and in the Cleveland Indians minor league system.

And he had memories of those days when the color line in baseball was just about to be breached and he played with some of the players who crossed it. He shared some of his stories with author Michael T. Swank who wrote Living on Borrowed Time: The Life and Times of Negro League Player Ted Toles Jr.

Learn more at the Baseball Heritage Museum when Isaac Brooks does a presentation on Toles’ life and times. It’s free. Registration is encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. Go to baseballheritagemuseum or call 216-789-1083.
