Returned Peace Corps Members Host Soups of the World to Help People Around the World

Sat 11/11 @ 6-9PM

The Northern Ohio Returned Volunteer Association (NORVA) is an organization that offers former Peace Corps volunteers the chance to interact with other former volunteers and to work on projects together that provide an outlet for the same passions that caused them to join the Peace Corps.

The group is inviting the community to share those passions and to help fund their projects at its Soups of the World event, taking place at the Nash in Slavic Village. Each guest will get a handcrafted ceramic bowl from Sandy Miller Pottery, which they can fill up with various soups, some of them made by refugees and immigrants from other countries. The event includes a cash bar, a silent auction and international entertainment.

Tickets are $35. Money raised goes to projects both globally and locally, such as girls’ empowerment camps overseas and English language tutoring for newly arrived people from other countries.
