The Corn Potato String Band Plays Their Rustic Music at Peninsula’s G.A.R. Hall

Sat 5/19 @ 8PM

The Corn Potato String Band calls itself “The Eyes and Ears of America.” But the America they see and hear is an America of old-time banjo and fiddle music. All the members of the trio — Aaron Jonah Lewis, Lindsay McCaw and Ben Belcher —are multi-instrumentalists who can whip out a guitar, mandolin or bass or even an accordion as they tour North America, Europe and even India relentlessly, spreading their blend of southern mountain ballads, gospel, ragtime and bluegrass-y fiddle hoedowns.

Their rustic music is a perfect fit for Peninsula’s G.A.R. Hall, built in the late 19th century where they’re returning for their third visit. Once again, like last year, local Akron favorites Jen Maurer and Anthony Papaleo of Mo’Mojo open.

General admission tickets are $15 in advance, $20 day of show.
