Poets and poetry lovers, head up to Mac’s Backs to hear a couple of the area’s talented poets and read some work of your own.
Journalist /author Lee Chilcote, who is also the founder and executive director of Literary Cleveland, a nonprofit organization that helps writers develop and connects them with the community, will be reading from his brand-new book of poems, The Shape of Home.
He’ll be joined by Damien Ware, a co-founder of the Woodland Hills/Buckeye-based poetry group the Griot Project, which focuses on promoting the heritage, traditions and culture of the African Diaspora through literary, visual and performance arts.
After they’ve read, it’s open mic time — your turn! The event is free.
