Ciompi Quartet + Clarinetist Allan Ware Perform for Rocky River Chamber Music Society

Mon 3/5 @ 7:30PM

The Ciompi Quartet was founded in 1965 at Duke University in North Carolina and more than 50 years (and obviously some member changes —although not that many) later, that’s where they’re still based, their membership comprising Duke University professors. Yet the ensemble still finds time to tour extensively around the world, and even come to Cleveland.

They will be the guest of the Rocky River Chamber Music Society at its home at Rocky River’s West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church. And they will be joined by clarinetist Allan Ware, a North Carolina native and frequent collaborator with the group.

In Rocky River, they will play a pair of quintets for clarinet and string by Johannes Brahms and Carl Maria von Weber. The Ciompi Quarter will open the program with Mozart’s String Quartet in D major.

As always the concerts are free, although a donation to continue the work of RRCMS is certainly welcome.
