It’s summer, the sun is shining, the pastel sundresses and shorts are out of storage, the evenings are long and golden and flecked with fireflies, the beaches are packed, and everyone is having fun.
What’s a gloomy goth to do?
You can always head down to the Winchester for its monthly Dark Wave Dance Cave, where everyone else will be wearing black too (don’t forget the black lipstick and nail polish!) There you can immerse yourself in the musical gloom and dark visions of goth, punk, synth pop, post punk and other genres that lean toward the pessimistic, spun by Mimi Dromette and Matthew Darkstar. Fans of 80s music, one of the most creatively fertile eras of rock music, should also enjoy this evening, even if black isn’t their favorite lipstick color.
