Sax Player Ernie Kridva Brings His Fat Tuesday Big Band to Nighttown

Tue 5/1 @ 7PM

Jazz sax player/composer/educator Ernie Krvida, who began playing professionally in 1963 when he was in his late teens, is a cornerstone of Cleveland’s jazz scene. And he still performs constantly with one of several different ensembles.

One of those is his Fat Tuesday Band which he formed 25 years ago to play classic big band music. In that time they’ve brought their high-energy sound, redolent of the 1930s and 40s, to many area venues. This week they’ll be squeezing all those musicians on the stage at Nighttown, appropriately enough, on Tuesday. They’ve also called on the talents of many vocalists to recreate that sound; guesting with them for this gig are Evelyn Wright and Mike Cady.

Tickets are $10.
