Most rescue groups do cats and dogs, with a few rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals thrown in. But the Geauga County Humane Society’s Rescue Village in South Russell also takes in horses than have been discarded or mistreated.
Want to learn more about what they do for equines? Attend their 2nd annual Help a Horse Seminar and Social Hour at the Rescue Village. There, the Barn Program manager, human officer and a barn veterinarian will talk about some of the animals they’ve cared for, how they’ve helped them and answer questions about the program.
There’ll also be snacks and adult beverages and a chance to tour the barn. The event is free, but please register here.
That event is 21 and over, but the whole family can come back on Sunday for Help a Horse Day where everyone can come and meet the horses.
