Once again, the stage of Severance Hall will be packed with musicians, as the Cleveland Orchestra, the men of the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, and a cast of internationally acclaimed guest vocalists take on Richard Wagner’s opera Tristan and Isolde with Franz Welser-Möst conducting.

The story of the title characters’ doomed love (is there any other kind in opera?) will star German tenor Gerhard Siegel as Tristan and Swedish soprano Nina Stemme as Isolde. Stemme in particular has won widespread praise for her previous performances in the role of Isolde as well as other Wagner operas.

The opera will be sung in the original German with projected English supertitles. Tickets range from $21-$161.
