The Cleveland Orchestra Brings on the Beethoven at Severance Hall

Thu 4/12 @ 7:30PM

Fri 4/13 @ 11AM

Go on and on all you want about the dearth of contemporary music being performed by major orchestras — you can’t stop classical music fans from craving regular fixes of Beethoven.

And the Cleveland Orchestra is at your service! On Thu 4/12, they will not only play perhaps his best-known symphony (along with his 9th), Symphony No. 5, but also Symphony No. 8 and his Coriolan overture.

If that’s not enough and you still want more, the following morning the orchestra will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 (“Heroic”) at its morning concert. There it will be paired with Richard Wagner’s Prelude and Love-Death from Tristan and Isolde.

Franz Welser-Möst conducts both concerts. Tickets are $31-$112.
