Cleveland Chums’ LUNAFEST Features Films by and About Women and Girls Around the World

Chums, Inc. is an organization, that was founded in 1946 by a trio of African-American woman dedicated to women supporting other women. The Cleveland Chapter of Chums, Inc. focuses on helping economically challenged students focus on educational success.

To support its work, Cleveland Chums is hosting its 10th annual fundraiser/film screening event called LUNAFEST featuring films about women and girls by women filmmakers from around the world.

It starts at 11am with a champagne and d’oeuvres reception before the program begins at noon. It will open with a presentation on how Chums has helped children, followed by the screening of nine films chosen from more than 1,000 entries. The event also includes a raffle and a post-film discussion and Q&A with videoconferencing with the filmmakers.

Tickets are $40 and proceeds benefit Cleveland Chums programs, the Breast Cancer Prevention Partners and Chicken & Egg Pictures.  It takes place a Tri-C Corporate College East.
