The Argentinian dance ensemble Che Malambo isn’t your typical dance company. The all-male troupe performs a blend of fast-paced footwork, rhythmic stomping, traditional percussion and music based on the South American gaucho tradition, dubbed malambo, to create an aggressively hypnotic spectacle.

The ensemble was founded by Paris-based choreographer Gilles Brinas, who immersed himself in the gaucho culture and premiered the group in Paris in 2007. Since then, it’s regularly toured the world. It will be coming to Cleveland with a new production created by Brinas to perform at Playhouse Square’s Ohio Theatre, presented by the Tri-C Performing Arts Series and Dance Cleveland.

Tickets are $25-$60.
