Rap Music Greats Appear in Ice-T-Produced Film Screening at the Rock Hall

Wed 2/21 @ 7PM

The 2012 documentary Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap features a litany of influential artists who made rap music what it is today. And no wonder! Its executive producer is Ice-T, one of the genre’s superstars, who also co-directed the film with Andy Baybutt.

In it, the performers talk about the inspiration and influences that fuel their lyrics and performances. Among the artists Grandmaster Cas, Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Kool Moe Dee, Afrika Bambaataa, Big Daddy Kane, Ice Cube, KRS-One, Snoop Dogg, Raekwon, Nas, MC Lyte, Run and DMC, Doug E. Fresh, Eminem — in all it offers at least glimpses of nearly four dozen.

The film will screen at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Tickets are $5.50, free for members.
