Citizens Pitch Community Ideas for Funding at Accelerate Event Downtown

Wed 2/21 @ 5:30PM

Cleveland is bursting with individuals who have small ideas that could make a big difference to some people. And many of those ideas could be launched with just a little bit of seed money.

That’s the impetus behind Accelerate 2018: Citizens Make Change, presented by Citizens Bank and the Cleveland Leadership Center. It centers around a pitch event taking place at the Global Center for Health Innovation. Twenty-five finalists were chosen from nearly 80 submissions in five categories: community change, economic and workforce development, educating for tomorrow, health & wellness, and quality of life.

At the event, presenters will make their pitches to a panel of judges selected form prominent community members. Those five finalists will make their pitches to a combined audience whose votes will pick the winner. That winner gets $5,000 while the other four get $2,000 each.

The event is open to the public with preliminary pitches at 5:30pm, a networking reception at 6:30, and the final round at 7pm. Advance tickets are $35 for the public, $30 for CLC members and $20 for students. Tickets are the door are $40.
