Party at a New Orleans-Style Mardi Gras Carnival at Brothers Lounge

Tue 2/13 @ 7PM

There probably won’t be a shortage of places to celebrate Mardi Gras, even though it’s a Tuesday — bars can’t find enough excuses to declare a drinking holiday.

But if you can’t make it to New Orleans to visit one of the drunkiest streets in America — Bourbon Street — you can head over the Brothers Lounge for its Mardi Gras Carnival and Masquerade Super Bash. Even if you are not a big drinker, there’s another inducement: the festive, high-energy music of Davidione Pearl and his band Daddy Longlegs Homegrown Revival, which is drenched in the sounds of Louisiana zydeco, along with reggae, Latin, funk, soul, jazz and rock.

But that’s not all! The evening is hosted by a couple of real character, WERE 1490 AM’s Kent N’ Angelica. And the Chakai Manta Latin Ambassador, Tribal Fusion Bellydancers Ivy and Denyce Renee, and Dennis “The Dragonslayer” Dragomer will be performing. There’ll be costume contests so you’ll want to dress up in all your finery and more elaborate mask, as well as face painting (yes, the party is family-friendly). And Brothers will be serving Louisiana-style food along with that signature Bourbon Street cocktail, the Hurricane.

Admission is $10.
