Make Your Sweetie a Never-Fading Bouquet at Upcycle Parts Bottle Blossom Workshop

Sun 2/11 @ 1-4PM

Have you ever stopped by the Upcycle Parts shop on St. Clair at East 65th? If not, you should go to this space overflowing with discarded and overstock materials donated for artists to purchase — cheap! — to transform into amazing things.

You can check out the shop and make some amazing things yourself at their Valentine Bottle Blossoms workshop.

“We’re rearranging our cozy shop into a mini floral factory where we’ll teach you the step-by-step process to create your own bouquet of everlasting flowers!” they promise. “Bottle blossoms, our signature product, represent the magic of upcycling: to elevate a leftover material into something with more value. At this workshop, you’ll transform materials finished with their first use (plastic soda bottles, wire hangers, and vinyl flooring samples) into beautiful blooms that can last a lifetime.”

For a fee of $23, you can make five blossoms and pick out a glass container to show them off in. They’ll also provide snacks, coffee and water — and if you want something stronger, you can bring it. You’ll also have a chance to check out the variety of crafting supplies they have on hand and do a little shopping. Be sure to wear grubby clothes!
