Learn About The Music Settlement’s Offerings at Community Music Celebration at the BOP STOP

Sat 2/10 @ 6-8PM

Generations of children and young people have nurtured their love of music at the Music Settlement in University Circle, founded in 1912. Some have participated in classes as therapy, others have gone on to careers in music, and still others have simply formed a lifelong appreciation for music as a result of taking classes there.

To learn more about its mission and see what it could offer members of your family, come to it Celebration of Community Music Education at the BOP STOP in Ohio City — a performance facility owned by the Music Settlement.

There, string, wind and piano students from both the Music Settlement and the Oberlin Community Music School will give short performances, both solo and in ensembles, of music by Johannes Brahms, Pablo de Sarasate, Giuseppe Verdi, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin and others, followed by performances from Jazz @ The Music Settlement ensembles. Together they’ll demonstrate the skills The Music Settlement makes possible.

The event is free and open to all.
