Guitar Duo Les Freres Meduses Plays Music by Balkan Composers at Plymouth Church

Sat 2/24 @ 7:30PM

Les Freres Meduses — the Jellyfish Brothers in English — are a guitar duo who play an intriguing variety of music — free improvisation, folk, classical music and their own original compositions. Benoît Albert and Randall Avers began working together at the Paris Conservatory in 1999 before disbanding and regrouping in 2008 as Les Frères Méduses.

The duo will be playing a program for the Cleveland Classical Guitar Society at Plymouth Church in Shaker Heights. There they’ll focus on Balkan folk music by composers Dusan Bogdanovich, Atanas Ourkouzounov and Goran Ivanovich — all contemporary living composers — as well as pieces by Avers and Albert themselves.

Tickets are $18-$40.
