The Cleveland Orchestra will devote its entire evenings this week to the music of early 20th-century French composer Maurice Ravel, best known for his 1928 work, Bolero.
If that’s all you know, these concerts will give you a chance to further explore his eclectic style and his skill at writing for an orchestra to make the most of its nuances. The orchestra will perform his 1911 Suite from Mother Goose, his 1930 Piano Concerto for the Left Hand (featuring French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, and the complete ballet music from Daphnis and Chloé (1911-12).
Matthias Pintscher conducts, replacing originally announced conductor Charles Dutoit. Tickets range from $21-$161.
