For its next series of concerts, Apollo’s Fire, Cleveland’s baroque orchestra, returns to territory it knows well: Johann Sebastian Bach.

In “Three Duels and a Wedding,” the ensemble will perform three pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach — and one by his contemporary, Georg Philipp Telemann. And they’ll be featuring soloists in each piece, mostly familiar to Apollo’s Fire regular. Violinist Olivier Brault and traverso (baroque flute) player Kathie Stewart fill the solo roles in Telemann’s Concerto in E minor for Flute & Violin. Soprano Amanda Forsythe sings in Bach’s Wedding Cantata. Violists Karina Schmitz and Kristen Linfante are featured in the Bach Brandenburg Concerto No. 6, while violinist Johanna Novom and oboe player Debra Nagy star in anther Bach double concerto, his Concerto for Violin & Oboe.

Performances take place at the First United Methodist Church in Akron on Thursday, at St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Cleveland Heights on Friday, at The Temple-Tifereth Israel in Beachwood on Saturday, and Rocky River Presbyterian Church on Sunday.

Tickets range from $10-$72.
