Thu 1/4 @ 7PM
The Cleveland Astronomical Society holds its first meeting of the year, and, as always, visitors are welcome at the event at Cleveland Metroparks’ CanalWay Center. This 2018 get-together is, you might say, star-studded.
Special guest Dr. Jon Bjorkman of the University of Toledo will look back on results from last year’s “Great American Eclipse,” the total-eclipse event in August that had booms in sales of eyewear, T-shirts and viewing-tourism.
But what did science REALLY learn from the eclipse? (And how come “Total Eclipse of the Heart” got major airplay in revival, while everyone forgot about Klaus Nomi’s classic “Total Eclipse?”)
Admission is free. A reception meet-and-greet happens at 6:30pm.
