Music Photographer Joe Kleon Offers Concert Photos to Benefit Kitten Krazy Rescue

Through Tue 2/6

Joe Kleon is widely known as the top photographer shooting music in Cleveland today, having photographed a vast range of artists from Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus to U2 and Bruce Springsteen to the Dave Matthews Band and Jason Aldean and of course, his favorite band, Rush. He’s the official photographer for Michael Stanley and Wish You Were Here.

What’s less well known (although not by much, since he makes no secret of it!) is that Joe is a passionate cat lover, a dad to two cats, Geddy and Alex.  And for more than four years he has volunteered at Medina’s Kitten Krazy rescue, going out every couple of weeks to photograph all the cats and post the pictures so people can fall in love with the cute little faces and rush out to adopt them.

He’s helped Kitten Krazy push its adoption stats up, and since opening in May 2004, they’ve found homes for 5,000 cats and kittens. (Kitten Krazy also provides spay/neuter services and has its own veterinary clinic just around the corner.)

But Joe’s involvement doesn’t stop there. For the third year, he’s put together photos for the annual eBay photo auction. What started with a handful of Michael Stanley photos now features 50 photos of many different artists on which fans and cat lovers can bid here.

Charlie lived at Kitten Krazy before being adopted by a CoolCleveland staff member.

In addition to photos, the auction is also offering a pair of tickets to Wish You Were Here’s March 3 concert at the Akron Civic Theatre, along with a concert T-shirt.

And yes — there’s more! Joe has made up a limited edition T-shirt — see photo below featuring his own superstar cat Geddy! — that you can purchase, with all proceeds going to Kitten Krazy. They’re $20. Purchase them here.

Bids are now open and will be taken through Tue 2/6.
