Melt’s Matt Fish Shares the Secrets of His Grilled Cheese Success at Lakewood Lecture Series

Fri 1/26 @ 11:30am

You don’t have to be a suit-and-tie kind of person to have a successful business. Tattooed punk rocker Matt Fish certainly is not. But after working in restaurants for 14 years, he had this idea to open a cool bar that served grilled cheese sandwiches on the side.

Those sandwiches are now the main event at Melt Bar and Grilled, which opened its first location in Lakewood in 2006; it opened its 10th freestanding location last year. And that doesn’t even include mini-locations at University Circle, Public Square, Cedar Point and Progressive Field. You might say that menu of creative sandwiches, served in restaurants packed with local pop cultural and historical photos, articles and memorabilia, and promoted with posters and artwork by Cleveland’s most talented graphic artists with a rock & roll sensibility, has been a success!

Fish is the speaker at the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce’s upcoming lunch event, “20 Questions with the Big Cheese, Matt Fish of Melt.” The event, taking place at the Clifton Club on Lake Avenue, starts with registration and networking at 11:30am, lunch and program at noon. It’s $20 for members, $25 for non-members.
