Fri 1/19 @ 5-8PM

Gallery talk 4-5PM

The Galleries at CSU’s spring semester exhibits go on view this week, featuring two artists whose works has been widely exhibited in this area: George Kozmon and Guy-Vincent, both Cleveland Institute of Art alumni, who are friends and occasional collaborators.

Guy-Vincent’s show, Codes and Identity in the South Gallery, will further explore a crypto-alphabet called Symbol Art which he introduced previously in his Neo Post Factum body of work, as will his video work Digital Passage, which will being showing in the Media Room. Kozmon’s work in the North Gallery is called Precipice, referencing the impact of his typically large-scale works.

Then in the Center Gallery, the two artists collaborated on Symbols, Glaciers and Ghosts, using deconstructed topographical maps and fragments of symbols, incorporating elements of their distinctive styles to create something new.

The show opens with a reception Fri 1/19 @ 5-9pm, preceded by a gallery talk by the artists from 4-5pm. It’s free and open to the public.
