Hear About and See Photos of Cleveland’s Past at the Cleveland Public Library

Sat 1/27 @ 11AM-noon

Laura DeMarco’s book Lost Cleveland has been making a big splash. Though many cities have such books packed with photos and essays about long-gone landmarks, Cleveland’s recklessness with its own history has made it a particular fertile ground for nostalgia, whether your memory goes back to Euclid Beach Park or Hough Bakeries or the grand department stories that used to line Euclid Avenue downtown.

Luckily, we don’t have to merely remember that grand downtown branch of the Cleveland Public Library whose original downtown building was completed in 1925. That’s where DeMarco will be speaking (actually on the 6th floor of the new Louis Stokes Wing), supplemented by photos from the library’s own historical collection. Following her talk she’ll sign books, which will be available for purchase.

It’s free and open to all.
