Five Trombones Lead the Bone-Afide Parade at the BOP STOP

Sat 1/20 @ 8PM

How much do you love the sound of a slide trombone? If you love it a LOT, you won’t want to miss local octet Bone-Afide, performing at the Bop Stop, which features no less than five trombones, along with a three-piece rhythm section.

The trombones include bandleader Scott Marsh, also a composer/arranger who performed with the Marine Forces Pacific Band; Baldwin Wallace/University of Akron music program alum Chris Anderson; Max Brady (who also performs with soul singer Wesley Bright); Jim Redmond who plays with the Fat Tuesday Band, the Dave Banks Big Band and others; and Aaron Thornberry, who works in IT but moonlights in numerous ensembles.

They’re joined by pianist Stewart Freedman, bassist Dan Agnotti and drummer Drew Thornberry for an evening which will feature jazz standards in funk, swing and Latin style, along with a handful of original compositions.

Admission is $15.
