Opening this week, Heights Arts’ Spotlight Gallery features new works by ceramicist Sharon Grossman, who is also a founding member of the nonprofit community arts organization.
In this group of works, she breaks away from the usual vessels she creates to produce a group of pieces meant to be hung on the wall using shards of dinnerware to create mosaic designs
“I have always loved carving,” says the former woodworker and furniture maker, “and a lot of my work includes carved or inlaid elements. To me, this body of work really combines those interests that led me first to make furniture and then become a ceramic artist.”
The show opens with a reception Fri 2/2 @ 6-9pm and will remain on view through Sun 3/18.
