The Screw Factory aka the Lake Erie Building in Lakewood is another sprawling old industrial building that has been colonized by artists and craftspeople although unlike the 78th Street Studios, its ground floor is still in industrial use.
While it’s held periodic open houses, it hasn’t held a big holiday show in a couple of years. But it’s remedying that situation now. Not only will resident artists be opening their studios, but the second and third floors will be packed with visiting vendors offering handmade goods. There will be edibles and drinkables as well. It’s free and open to all. They will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Lakewood Community Center if you are feeling charitable.
