Punk Bands Celebrate Festivus – a Holiday That Doesn’t Exist – at the Beachland

For those who don’t have much to do with Christmas, there’s always Festivus, a holiday invented on The Seinfeld Show, which allegedly takes place on December 23.

OK, so it doesn’t really exist. But it’s a great excuse to ditch the green-and-red holiday spirit and really rock out. A triple bill of punk and punk-inspired bands will play Rock Festivus 5 at the Beachland Tavern: Obnox featuring punk sage Lamont Bim Thomas (pictured), the long-running Kill the Hippies and Iron Oxide. How do you know this is going to be a REALLY wild and crazy evening? It’s hosted by Cleveland punk legend “from FYPM” which isn’t his band’s full name, but clubs are reluctant to broadcast what it really is.

Tickets are $7 in advance, $10 at the door.
