There’s a fan club for almost everything, including that sturdy, old-fashioned cast iron cookware your grandmother used to use. And periodically the cast iron cookware enthusiasts from this area get together at the Coit Road Farmers Market to buy, sell, trade and learn. There will be vendors with vintage products for sale and demonstrations on how to season (prepare for use) and clean that cast iron skillet you inherited.
Market manager Kevin Scheuring will be cooking with its as well, demonstrating how to make tasty latkes and potato chips, which you’ll have the chance to taste. Conveniently market vendors will have potatoes so you CAN try this at home!
