Fri 12/8 @ 8:30PM
Chicago’s Muriel Anderson and New York City’s Mark Sganga are well known to northeast Ohio fans of fingerstyle guitar from their regular participation in the Woodchopper’s Ball, the annual showcase of fingerstyle playing at the Kent Stage each December.
They’re playing there again this year, along with seven other acts. But if you don’t want to drive that far, or if you’d just like to hear more of them, drop by Nighttown in Cleveland Heights where they’ll be playing an evening, joined by Cleveland guitarist Pete Cavano.
Both Anderson and Sganga have been National Guitar Champions at the International Fingerstyle Guitar Festival, with Anderson the first woman ever to win the title. She also plays the harp guitar, the impressive instrument she’s holding in the picture above.
Tickets are $20.
