Cleveland’s Daddy Longleg’s Homegrown Revival Releases Debut CD at the Beachland

Fri 12/15 @ 9PM

Many local music fans became familiar with Davidione Pearl as the energetic sax player/backup vocalist with Akron zydeco/party band Mo’Mojo. Even on a stage bursting with charismatic musicians, he stood out.

So it’s no surprise that, after leaving Mo’Mojo four years ago, he formed and fronts his own band, Daddy Longleg’s Homegrown Revival, an eclectic conglomeration of rock, R&B and bits and pieces of other sounds. According to their own description, the bandweaves a rich tapestry of musical genres from all corners of the earth … a mix of Middle East Afro-funk, Jazz, latin, reggae, French Cafe, Americana, rock, soul and gospel.”

That band is now releasing their debut album Return of the Sun, with four talented musicians bringing the sound alive onstage at the Beachland Tavern. Pearl will be joined by bassist Lovest Watson, guitarist Mike McNamara and drummer/percussionist Neil Chastain. Syracuse’s Root Shock will open. AM 12490’s Kent N Angelica host and Cleveland’s #1 reggae enthusiast Packy Malley will DJ before and after the show.

Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door.
