Drummer Greg Bandy is yet another Cleveland-bred jazz musician who decamped for the greater opportunities of New York City. After making the move, he had the chance to play with jazz luminaries such as Betty Carter, Pharoah Sanders, Georg Benson, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson and Ola Dara, as well as lead his own ensembles.
More recently, he’s spent time in both New York and Cleveland, teaching at Cleveland State, Oberlin and Tri-C. Like many other ex-Clevelanders, he’s home for the holidays and performing at Nighttown, where he’ll be joined by trumpeter Kenny Davis, guitarist Josh Hindmarsh and bassist Kip Reed.
