The current exhibition Heavy Metal at the Akron Art Museum (which runs through 2/18/18) is a group show devoted to artists’ interpretation of metal, or materials that resemble metal. It includes work by nationally known artists and established artists from northeast Ohio.
The museum is drawing on the latter for a series of artist-led talks in the gallery to explain what inspires their work. This week Clevelander Corrie Slawson, whose mixed media work draws on the history and topography of the region, will lead the tour.
It’s free and open to all.
