Artists and Friends Gather for Artists’ Trust Holiday Mixer at MOCA Cleveland

Thu 12/14 @ 5:30-8PM

Liz Maugins is leaving Zygote Press, which she co-founded 22 years ago and where she is currently executive director, at the end of the year. That’s because she’s bursting with ideas and a vision for bringing the visual art community together to grow the scene and expand opportunities for both artists and art-lovers.

One of those ideas became the project The Artists’ Trust, which earlier this year solicited self-portraits from local artists and put them on display — nearly 400 of them! — at MOCA Cleveland as part of its Constant as the Sun exhibit.

She’s hosting a holiday mixer at MOCA for those artists, their friends and anyone else who wants to become part of it. Artists’ Trust artists and MOCA members are free. Any artist who missed being part of the exhibit can bring a self-portrait on a sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper and join on the spot. It’s $10 for everyone else — and all are welcome. There’ll be a cash bar, munchies, live music and interactive activities.

Artists who make an original holiday card to exchange with another artist at the event get one free drink.
