Talespinner Children’s Theatre Turns “A Christmas Carol” Inside Out in “Mr. Scrooge’s Ghosts”

Fri 11/24-Sun 12/17

For its next show, Talespinner Children’s Theatre departs from its usual format of basing its scripts on folk tales from around the world, and latches onto a holiday standard — the old Charles Dickens’ tales of A Christmas Carol.

But that’s just their jumping-off point. Don’t expect Mr. Scrooge’s Ghosts to be like every community theater production of A Christmas Carol you’ve seen. Cleveland writer Michael Sepesy turns the story inside out exploring in a humorous fashion why the ghosts targeted Scrooge.

Of course, this being Talespinner, expect movement and chanting and music and masks and costumes and puppets and all that good stuff they do to make their productions a feast for the eyes and ears.

It runs Fridays and Saturdays @ 7pm and Saturdays and Sundays @ 2pm, through Sun 12/17. Tickets are $10 12 and under; $15 over 12; $12 for college students and seniors.
