Bicyclists Help Feed the Hungry at Lakewood’s Cranksgiving

Sat 11/18 @ 10:30AM

BikeCleveland and BikeLakewood team up for the 2017 Cranksgiving. This is an annual November celebration of bicycling and charity food-gathering.

The starting point will be the Bottle House on Madison Avenue. Cyclists of all ages and skill levels get maps to nearby grocery stores (shoutout to Aldi’s!). Participants ride bicycles to about four of the stores to buy one or more food items on the shopping list.

Everything purchased must be hauled by bicycle, either in a bag, pannier or trailer (BikeCleveland has a few bike trailers available on a first-come-first-served basis for power shoppers). Trips wrap up around 1:30pm, with the food donated to the Lakewood Community Services Center and a group photo.

Admission and riding is free, though know that cyclists are said to spend on the average about $15 (there is no set limit) and ride about fifteen miles.
