Music From the Western Reserve Presents Cleveland Orchestra Cellist in Hudson

Sun 9/17 @ 5PM

For 35 years Music from the Western Reserve has been presenting its series of concerts showcasing some of the area’s top classical music talent. To start this season it will feature cellist Dane Johnson, an Alaska native who performed with the Escher String Quartet for five years and joined the Cleveland Orchestra a year and a half ago.

He’s been a devotee of Bach’s Six Suites for Solo Cello since he was a child, even making the famous 580-mile walking pigrimage along Camino de Santiago in northern Spain, toting his cello and performing the suites at historic churches along the way. He won’t have to carry his instrument that far when he performs Suites No 1, 4 and 6 at Christ Church Episcopal in Hudson.

Tickets are $20; student admission is free.
