Cleveland-based baroque chamber ensemble Les Delices doesn’t start their actual season until Sat 10/21. But in the meantime, they’ve got a pair of events this week with very different goals: one is to raise awareness in the community of what they do, the other is to raise money so they can keep doing it.
On Thu 9/21, the ensemble hosts an open rehearsal at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ohio City. There people can drop in and listen as the group prepares the music for its upcoming programs and learn more about how they put together a piece of music. It’s free and open to all.
Then on Sunday 9/24, they’re having a benefit jazz brunch at Nighttown in Cleveland Heights. Guests will get to chow down on a brunch featuring Nighttown’s celebrated food and listen to a performance by Les Delices’ baroque/jazz crossover project Songs Without Words. They’ll also be celebrating the release of their latest CD Age of Indulgence. Tickets are $100.
