Summit Metroparks gives visitors two chances in a single day to get up close and personal with insects, an opportunity to observe those who come out during the day and those most active at night.
Come to Liberty Park in Twinsburg at 1pm to go on an easy half-mile hike while a naturalist points out pollinators like bees and butterflies.
Then from 7-9pm at Firestone Metro Park in Akron, a naturalist will lead the group out in the woods to listen for katydids, crickets and cicadas and share the meaning of the sounds they make. There will also be a campfire with marshmallows.
