The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes’ annual Hike, Run & Explore fundraiser to benefit its environmental education programs isn’t just about raising money. It’s also about sharing with the community what the center has to offer.
The event has several components, including a 5K or 10K race through Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights, four guided nature hikes ranging from one mile to 12 miles, and family-friendly activities back at the center including tree climbing, archery, music and crafts. Good and drink will be available for purchase there from the Rolling Bean, the Jones Bones BBQ truck and BottleHouse Brewery.
Race registration is $25 through Thu 9/14; $30 day of the event. The hikes are $20 for adults; $10 for kids under 12. Activities at the Nature Center, taking place from 10am-2pm, are on a donation basis.
