In 1971, Pink Floyd, always given to grandiose gestures, filmed a audience-less concert at an ancient Roman amphitheatre at Pompeii.
In 2016, former Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmore played two public shows at the same venue, with spectacular effects including lasers, film and pyrotechnics. They featured material from both Pink Floyd and Gilmore’s solo career, and they too were captured on film to be released this month.
That film will be screened at Gordon Square’s Capitol Theatre as part of Cleveland Cinema’s fall Rock Docs series. Admission is $15.
