Cleveland’s Tropidelic Hosts Freakstomp Festival in Medina

Thu 8/10-Sat 8/12

Jam-style bands just can’t resist a good festival, which is why so many of them start their own, gathering up all the bands they’ve met in their travels.

Cleveland’s jam/funk/party band Tropidelic is joining the herd with its Freakstomp Festival, taking place in Medina with two big days of music, each featuring a late evening set by the host band.

Starting at 6pm on Friday and 2pm on Saturday, 15 other bands play as well, including local favorites like Vibe & Direct and Drunken Sunday, along with Myrtle Beach reggae-style jam band Treehouse!; another South Carolina band, Sun-Dried Vibes’ reggae rock; ska-punk-reggae quartet Bumpin’ Uglies from Maryland, Cincinnati’s Elementree Livity Project and more (There seem to be a lot of reggae-influenced bands on the festival so if that is your thing, GO!)

There will also be live painters to add some visual interest. Ticket price includes two nights of camping and free parking. You can arrive Thursday evening for an extra night of camping; vendors will already be set up.
