Cleveland Cinemas Rock Doc Series Kicks Off With Slipknot Concert Film

Wed 9/6 @ 7:30PM

Rejoice, rock and roll lovers! Cleveland Cinemas is kicking off a fall series of music documentaries.

Or maybe don’t. They’re launching with Slipknot: Day of the Gusano, filmed at Knotfest in Mexico City, one of the biggest heavy metal markets in the world. Slipknot’s bludgeoning music is an acquired taste and they call their fans “maggots”(“guano” means “worm”), which captures some of their dubious charm. They’re probably best known for the masks and jumpsuits they sport onstage, an image some argued (probably correctly) they stole from Cleveland’s much more creative Mushroomhead. Those who like their music relentless will enjoy this.

The film screens at the Capitol Theatre in Gordon Square. Admission is $12.50. Future docs feature the Avett Brothers, David Gilmore, Pearl Jam and Black Sabbath, so there are films for a wide variety of tastes.
