Loaded, the series of experimental music concerts taking place on MOCA’s loading dock, is back for another go-around.

Curated by RA Washington of Guide to Kulchur, Lisa Miralia of WCSB’s Mysterious Black Box and indie rocker Haley Morris, the series features performers who are pushing sonic boundaries. It opens with Washington’s band, Mourning [A] BLKstar, which began as a tribute to a murdered friend, and evolved via collaboration with other musicians into a quilt of traditionally black musical genres, stitched together with lyrics that comment on the black experience in America.

They’ll be joined by MuAmin Collective, a hip-hop ensemble founded by the duo A-Live and ZiON more than a decade ago. They’ve often performed with a live band, including some of the area’s most creative jazz musicians.

The performance is free and open to the public.
