Artists Archives of the Western Reserve Explores Use of the Word in Art

The Artists Archives of the Western Reserve is currently hosting an exhibit called Word. palabra, ,كلمة, Wort, mot, ワード, слово, parola, focused on how artists incorporate words into their artworks as well a show they are used in the media. It features work by Ohio artists Liz Maugans, Janet Mikolajczyk, Clarissa Jakobsons, Shirley Ende-Saxe, Jon Keppel, Todd Leech, Maurice Sherman and Adele Marihatt.

Today, AAWR is presenting a program called World Play with Laura Grace Weldon, a small-group workshop that includes solo and collaborative writing exercises “designed to stretch participants into seeing language differently.” It’s free but you must register at artistsarchives.org or by calling 216-721-9020.

The show is free and open to the public, through Sat 9/9.
