Akron Alefest Returns for 2nd Year With Focus on Local Food and Drink

Sat 8/12 @ 1-5PM

It’s that drinking-outdoors season, and everyone wants to get in on the action. If the Chardon Alefest out in Geauga County is off the beaten path for you, what about the new Aron Alefest, only in its second year?

Taking place at the Trolley Barn in downtown Akron, the focus is on the burgeoning number of Akron-based breweries, such as Thirsty Dog Brewing Co, Hoppin Frog Brewery, and Ohio Brewing Co, HiHO Brewing, Wadsworth Brewing Company and Magic City Brewing Company. There’ll be some other brweries from around the region too, including Clevland’s Butcher and the Brewer and Columbiana’s Birdfish Brewing Co.

Local food is also in the spotlight with food trucks and other area food providers. And, since Crafty Mart is the presenter, you’ll also find local makers offering their handmade artwork, crafts and other items.

Tickets are $45, which includes admission, a tasting glass and 20 tasting tickets. There are also designated driver tickets for $10, which include Akron-made NORKA soda.
