Two Noted Local Artists Show New Paintings at 78th Street’s HEDGE Gallery

“Trials and Tribulations” by Justin Brennan

Fri 7/21 @ 5-9PM

Two artists whose work is familiar to Cleveland gallery-goers will debut new bodies of work at the HEDGE Gallery during the 78th Street Studios Third Friday art walk.

Stephen Kasner’s dark, foreboding work was all over town in the 90s when its goth spirit found confluence with the era’s music. But his last local show was in 2002 at the 1300 Gallery, one of 78th Street’s pioneering galleries. He moved to California and exhibited there extensively, with some of his work appearing in films. He’s back to re-introduce himself to local art lovers with his exhibition of new drawings and paintings, Capture & Release (Expanded Images Within Reach).

Justin Brennan has slowly built a local reputation for his semi-abstract paintings over the last decade, working out of his studio at 78th Street. In his new show of paintings No Expectations, he expands his expressionistic work that embeds the human figure within his dramatic compositions. His HEDGE show will be his largest to date, encompassing works from 2012 through today.

The shows will be on view through Fri 9/1.
